SWTOR System Requirements

What will you need to play Star Wars: The Old Republic? People are starting to get ready for SWTOR and starting to wonder and ask what PC hardware they'll need to play the game. There are two lists below. One is my recommended list of system requirements and the other is the official minimum specs. You'll notice that they're slightly different.

The minimum specifications will allow you to scrape through at the lowest possible graphics settings. In my experience, this never provides a reliable gameplay and things like over-populated areas will cause your system to slow completely down, and even to crash. Dragon Age 2 is the same type of engine and graphics quality you can expect of SWTOR. Dragon Age 2 is one of the latest games from BioWare. Getting good gameplay that doesn't slow down or crash and looks sweet, is what I have based my system requirements on for SWTOR.

As I play SWTOR Beta, as of next month (can't wait!), I will re-adjust this recommendation if need be.

SWTOR FACE PC Recommended:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4 GHz Processor or equivalent
CPU: AMD Phenom II X3 Triple core 2.8 GHz or equivalent
RAM:  4GB to 8GB Vista and Windows 7
DirectX 11 Video: ATI 5870 or greater
DirectX 11 Video: NVIDIA 480 or greater

Official PC Minimum:

OSWindows XP, Vista/7
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ or better · Intel Core 2 Duo Processor 2.0GHz or better
RAM: Windows XP: 1.5GB · Windows Vista and Windows 7: 2GB · PCs using a built-in graphical chipset, 2GB RAM recommended.
VideoATI X1800 or better* · nVidia 7800 or better* · Intel 4100 Integrated Graphics or better*

Our Guild in SWTOR Join Us

Hi people. Just want to give you the heads up that I have created SQUAD, a remake of our old guild from SWG where I was the GM for 5 years and I also hope to get some of my old guild members from Entity, our WoW guild from the Nagrand server. Star Wars: The Old Republic is not out yet but the guild creation service is, so to ensure I get to play alongside people I have enjoyed playing other MMOG games with, I would like to invite any of you to join SQUAD now if you are thinking of playing SWTOR. SWTOR Class: Trooper

Please go to our New Trooper Page for the latest Information!

HONOR, DUTY, DEFENSE OF THE REPUBLIC

Not all heroes carry Lightsabers. Some just have the will to fight.

For decades, the armed forces of the Galactic Republic defended their civilization against the seemingly unstoppable Sith Empire. Despite countless setbacks, the men and women of the Republic military never backed down until the Senate ordered them to do so. These brave souls remain ready and willing to lay their lives on the line today.

In the wake of the Treaty of Coruscant, the Republic military has begun recruiting from within its own ranks, creating cutting-edge Special Forces squads for the inevitable day when the war with the Sith Empire begins anew. These advanced strike teams are comprised of only the most talented and disciplined soldiers—a new breed of elite Republic Troopers.

These Troopers are the embodiment of the Republic military’s highest aspirations—the most advanced fighting force in the galaxy. They are equipped to face any foe in any environment, but it’s not their gear that makes them tough—it’s their guts. The Troopers’ greatest weapons are their indomitable spirit, their unwavering sense of duty and their undying loyalty to each other and to the ideals that the Republic represents. In this age, the stakes have never been higher. The Republic must win or face extinction. The fate of the galaxy rests upon ordinary men becoming extraordinary heroes. This is the path of the Republic Trooper.

Class update on swtorface

I'm putting together class info and blog links for all the classes in TOR. Over the coming week you will see posts on all classes pop up. The posts will be a work in progress and I will add content to them as more information comes out.

First up is Bounty Hunter. If you know of any class specific blogs we are not listing please let us know.

SWTOR Class: Bounty Hunter

Please go to our New Bounty Hunter Page for the latest Information!

HUNTER, SEEKER, KILLER FOR HIRE

Countless enemies stand in the way of the Sith Empire’s drive for domination. The Empire spares no expense eliminating these threats, offering massive bounties to employ the galaxy’s most lethal hunters. Earning a death mark from the Empire means a life spent in fear, constantly looking over one’s shoulder. It’s never a questionif a Bounty Hunter will find you… only when.

Both infamous and anonymous at the same time, Bounty Hunters are far more than mercenaries for hire—they’re heirs to a professional legacy—an ancient brotherhood with a glorious history. Tracking elusive targets across multiple star systems requires expertise, especially when the targets can be prominent, powerful, and often prepared for confrontation. Thrill seekers from all walks of life set out to become Bounty Hunters, but only the most hard-boiled survive in this competitive and deadly business.

The Bounty Hunter’s path lies along the edge—the stakes are always high—and the path only leads two places, to a life of infamous glory… or to a quick and ignominious death.

The right tools for the right game! old republic keyboard by Razer on swtorface.com

Back in January I showed you the Switchblade on gamingface.com it’s a small gaming laptop from Razer with a unique feature Dynamic Adaptive keys. This tech was some of the coolest stuff I got to see at CES this year.
The first produce that I’ve seen with the Dynamic Adaptive keys is about to come out from Razer and its set to change the way we game! I will not be thinking twice about trading in my G19 for this baby from Razer!

Lets have a look at the old republic keyboard from Razer

The right tools for the right game! Old Republic keyboard by Razer

Back in January I showed you the Switchblade on gamingface.com. It’s a small gaming laptop from Razer with a unique feature: Dynamic Adaptive keys. This tech was some of the coolest stuff I got to see at CES this year.

The first product that I’ve seen with the Dynamic Adaptive keys is about to come out from Razer and it's set to change the way we game! I will not be thinking twice about trading in my G19 for this baby from Razer!

Let's have a look at this new Old Republic keyboard from Razer, all set up to play SWTOR!

Are you on the light side of the Force?

Or will you fall to the Dark Side?

Pre programmed settings not only change the macro keys on the board but also the complete look of it right down to your skill key-sets for your class!

A new way to experience the world of Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ with game information, music, interchangeable faction emblems and much more vibrantly displayed on the full color LCD track-panel. With highly sensitive multi-touch support, you can even record macros right on the panel so you're armed for complete destruction of your opponents instantly.

Hang on A Track panel that is all so a touch pad ? OMG!

A true Jedi or Sith master thinks quickly on their feet, adjusting Force abilities and lightsaber stance to suit each fight. With the dynamically changing adaptive tactile keys on the Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ keyboard by Razer, put more skills and macros within quick reach so you're always equipped to emerge victorious from every battle, all the time.

For me this will be a killer addition to this keyboard making it smooth as R2's dome, to slip right into this new MMO.

Just as smugglers fast draw their blasters to shoot enemies dead before they can react, the resplendent gold backlit slim key caps on the Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ keyboard by Razer allow faster actuation and shorter travel distance. This keeps you many steps ahead in combat, the decisive edge for surviving in the far reaches of the galaxy.

I love typing on my laptop and slimline keys on a gaming keyboard is a god send!

Record unlimited macros on-the-fly without taking an eye off the game and immediately change between up to 10 profiles without the hassle of going into the driver software. 5 additional macro keys on the side further expand the number of easy-to-reach commands at your fingertips.

I don't know if I understand this just yet ... Macros on the left and right of the keyboard seems like a lot of moving around to me but it will let you use a familiar layout for all your other games, just in case you need to log into WoW to let them know about all the fun your having in SWTOR :P

Whether blue for the Galactic Republic, red for Sith Empire, or even green like a Jedi's lightsaber, customize the look of the Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ keyboard by Razer with multi-color LED lighting to get a unique look and style on your ultimate gaming weapon.

Blue all the way baby!

Now I'm thinking I might have to do a full case mod for this baby. Not only is it sleek but it matches my site!!

SWTORFace.com

SWTORFace.com is dedicated to BioWare's new game and features new content daily on the site itself, plus a handy RSS feed of blogs and websites that are publishing content about SWTOR. Bringing it all together is a fast-growing list of information about SWTOR-focused Internet destinations, in the Faces of SWTOR fansites section.

About the Creator

I am a massive Star Wars fan and even have the Rebel logo tattooed on my right arm and even have two children named after influential female Star Wars characters from the expanded universe! Over the last few years I have played several different MMOs trying to fill the void that was created by my first experience with a Star Wars MMO world in Sony's Star Wars Galaxies. I was told about SWTOR five years ago at E3 by a Lucasfilm representative who had intervened in a conversation about the issues that Sony was having with the Star Wars franchise. So to say that I have been waiting for STWOR for a while is an understatement!

MMO players are not like other gamers. While there are lots of different ways to approach MMO gaming, most players like to immerse themselves in the virtual world and for many this involves the creation of an online persona around the game. Followers run blogs, guild sites, publish guides, databases of information, produce videos of raids, and even pump out fan fiction. GamingFace.com was set up to provide a central place where players can look at feeds from sites set up by other players, and by media, enabling them to see the latest information as it's posted.
