The Many Looks of T7-01

Complete Guide to T7-01 Customizations

T7-01 is one of my favorite companions, not only because he was my first companion but because he is a droid with a cool attitude! This little guy can take a real beating and he has some of the coolest comebacks in your story that you will come across! I so wish I could have given him a lightsaber and made him a Jedi when he asked.

T7-01 has seven looks available, although customization 5 requires you to have the Collector's Edition and customization 6 requires you to have a security key attached to your account. With the variety of colors available, T7-01 can be decked out to match your favorite outfit. Wearing red today? No problems, customization 3 will have you looking like a team. Just got some gold PvP gear? Not an issue - T7-01's default look will look awesome right beside you. Read on to see where you can purchase all of the customizations from.

Customization 6 is available on The Republic Fleet Station from the Security key reward vendor, Tamin.

You can find customization number 5 on The Republic Fleet Station from the Collector's Edition Vendor called Jhaffus.

Customizations 1, 2 and 4 are available from vendors on both Taris and Balmora. The vendor's name on Taris is Tatrog and he is hidden in the corner of the cantina. The Balmora vendor is hard to miss as he can be found at the entrance to the main base in bug town.

The Many Looks of Qyzen Fess

Complete Guide to Qyzen Fess Customizations

First off, I know we have always posted our "Many Looks of " images using bikini outfits on our Companions, but when we tryed to put Qyzen Fess into a bikini he ripped 3 of our droids into 6 pieces! So we have changed our bikini policy, to keep peace in the Galaxy!

Qyzen Fess is the first Companion that players get as a Jedi Consular. Our Trandoshan friend is a heavy armor wearing melee tank who brings his skill and hunting knowledge to your story line. Like most reptiles  Qyzen will shed his skin from time to time and it really annoys C2-N2 who has the fun job of cleaning it up ... so it's not uncommon for Qyzen to change his looks!

Let's have a look at the first 5 looks:

Qyzen has 5 customizations, plus the default look The image above has the default look far left and then the 4 customizations you can purchase from vendors (one customization is a rare loot drop, which we'll talk about below).

Customization 1 and 4 can be purchased from the Security Key vendor on the Republic fleet

Customization 2 can be purchased from The Balmora vendor, Guunta. He is hard to miss, as he can be found at the entrance to the main base in bug town.

The Collector's Edition Vendor has customization 3 for sale if you own a Collector's Edition copy of SWTOR.

The last special customization is a rare loot drop from Warlord Kephess, the final boss of Explosive Conflict operation.

Even if you get the loot drop, like I did, you still need to roll for the item with all the other Consulars in your raid!

A big thanks to Nomzy for letting me take the screenshots of this cool customization which he won when it dropped in our raid ... and DAMN YOU FOR BEATING ME BY 1! :)

Companion Customization Changes in Patch 1.4

A new feature coming in 1.4 is the ability to finally turn your companion's helmet off and the ability to unify your companion's gear color. You're no longer required to have female companions hiding behind masks, or any companions wearing bad taste color combinations.

Pressing C ingame will bring up your character screen. Then simply select your companion tab and your options will show, as you can see in these screenshots.

You can unify the color of all, or selected items, the same way that you can with your main characters.

C2-N2 and 2V-R8 Companion Guide

2V-R8 or C2-N2 join you when you first get your ship at around level 16. Imperial players get joined by the extremely obedient and loyal 2V-R8 and Republic players get joined by the pompous, pain in the ass C2-N2. Although both of them can be annoying at times, C2-N2 makes C3-P0 seem like an ideal companion. Bioware need to include an off switch on these droids because now that I've been playing with them for 6 months, it's getting to the stage where if C2-N2 implies that I am fat one more time, I'm going to feed him my lightsaber!

>With the introduction of legacy perks, Bioware have given you the ability to purchase equipment for your ship droid that increases their crafting or gathering abilities. To purchase the equipment you'll need to have the legacy perk that gives you a repair/vendor droid on your ship. For 100K each you can purchase the following abilities for your ship droid:

Engineering Droid Sensor: +5 Scavenging Efficiency, +5 Cybertech Critical
Exploration Droid Sensor: +5 Archaeology Efficiency, +5 Synthweaving Critical
Hunter Droid Sensor: +10 Investigation Efficiency, +2 Armstech Critical
Medical Droid Sensor: +10 Biochem Efficiency, +2 Diplomacy Critical
Scout Droid Sensor: +10 Artifice Efficiency, +2 Treasure Hunting Critical
Security Droid Sensor: +10 Armormech Efficiency, +2 Underworld Trading Critical

These abilities come attached on an head slot pieces of armor, allowing you to equip several bonuses on any one droid but not at the same time.

These bonuses are not as valuable if your droid affection level is too low. Below you will find a table listing all their favorite gifts. Using these gifts are the only way to increase affection with your droid.

The Many Looks of Elara Dorne

Complete Guide to Elara Dorne Customizations

Elara Dorne is the second companion to join Havoc Squad in your Trooper story line. If you're playing a male Trooper, she is your only romance option. In this guide I'll show you all the available looks for Elara, even though some of them, in my opinion, don't suite her personality and accent.

I have included large high res shots of each look in their slave girl bikini outfit and I've also included a high res close up of the face for each custom look. I also include the rakghoul customization which I received during the ingame special event last month. Although this is no longer available ingame, it was purchased in a random drop bag, available from the Jawa vendor on Tatooine.

You seem to get a better look at her when you're on your ship. The textures seem to be higher quality when she's stationed in the med bay compared to what she looks like when she's running around behind you.

When you meet Elara she is a proper spoken blonde with a British accent. Her character defected from the Empire and joins you early on in the story. Although you can change her appearance you can't changer her personality. At first she might seem cold, but if you're the right type of guy, she'll warm up to you quickly. She actually reminded me of my own wife in her personality and work ethic, not to mention the default looks. I've always been fond of blondes so I personally stuck with the default look.

I took Elara out to sunny Tatooine for her bikini shoot and like Carrie Fisher, she seemed to enjoy the activity.

The cntre two images int he collection of images above are the default looks for Elara. Unfortunately, apart from cut scenes, she has a helmet equipped, so the majority of your time you won't be able tot ell the difference between her and your other companions, no matter what customization you have enabled. To get around the lack of 'hide head slot' on companions you can get heavy armor headbands for Jedi Knights and re-equip them with the appropriate mods for a medic Trooper. This will allow you to see her face and have a helmet equipped.

Careful when purchasing your medium armor head slot as your companion doesn't have any specific class so any armor pieces that require specific classes like Jedi or Trooper, will not work on companions.

Customizations 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 are available from vendors on Balmora and Ilum.

The Balmora vendor, Guunta, is hard to miss as he can be found at the entrance to the main base in bug town.

Sargent Kdam is in the main base on Ilum.

Customization 8 is available on Ilum at the Ilum Orbital Station from the Security key reward vendor.

Captain Kneely is in the center-left of the Orbital station and is only available to players who have attached a security key to their account.

To find out more about Elara Dorne, including gift preferences, check out the Trooper Companion Guide page.

Bonus XP and maxing out companion affection with gifts

This post is a bit of an update on what I'm doing in SWTOR at the moment, including information on using bonus XP and low level gifts to boost up a new companions affection quickly.

With the server transfers opening up last week I finally managed to get two of my other characters over to my main server. The characters I have right now are:
Level 50 Miraluka Jedi Consular Shadow who is blind and cannot be seen
Level 50 Jedi Guardian who looks just like me, or a fitter version of me
Level 40 Smuggler gun-slinger with a cyborg eye-patch for the win
Level 20 Miraluka Sith Warrior, and I'm sick of people asking me where I got my helmet from that looks like glasses
Level 22 Trooper Comando, and why does anybody like to heal? I am finding this character almost painful
... and a couple of level 1s.

They are all on the same server (now). What I'm planning on doing is having one of each style spec. So my Jedi Knight is a Guardian and my Sith Warrior is a Marauder. My Jedi Consular is Shadow and my Sith Inquisitor will be a Sorcerer. That's the plan. So in the end I will have played every style of advanced class.

PvP vs PvE

Pre-patch 1.2 I leveled my Shadow up to 50 mainly through PvP. But post-1.2 I'm finding the going is a bit slow. I am having a blast on my Sith Warrior and it's real fun to PvP with but the PvP rewards have been nerfed to the extent that it's a lot faster to PvE level, especially if you're stacking your bonus XP like I am.

Stacking bonus XP

What I mean by stacking bonus XP is that I'll let a character sit and max out their bonus XP for a few days whilst I play with another character. With five characters on the go it's really easy to spend 100% of your game time leveling with bonus XP. PvP is way slower than this.

Note to self: remove the Ratghoul customization if you plan on making out with your companion

Maxing affection with new companions

The other thing I'm doing with all my alts is maxing out affection with a companion as soon as I get them. Using the Companion Items Vendor on my fleet station, I start by purchasing 50 or 60 level 1 gifts which that particular companion loves. (Check what they like in our Companion Lists) These cost 200 each. I pop that gift in the number 1 spot and turn on a repeating macro on my G19 keyboard, so that every four seconds a gift is presented to the companion. So in four minutes they get 60 gifts they like. As soon as they reach around 3000 affection they stop liking the level 1 gifts and then require the level 2s. Another 40 or so level 2s will take your companion to just over 5000 affection.

What I found after leveling 3 level 50s (2 in live and 1 on beta) is that at the end of all your mission lines, most companions are sitting on 4000 - 5000 affection. By starting them off with the cheap gifts from the vendor and getting them to the 5000 mark before you even start using them on missions, means that at the end when you do reach level 50 they will be maxed or close to it.

Every companion costs about 60-70 000 to get started in this way. So this is impractical for a new player. But anybody who has got level 50 alts knows how easy it is to make 60-70K. To try and bump them up once they have reached 6-7000 affection with gifts ends up costing a lot more because the higher level gifts cost more. Best case scenario, if you're getting your gifts through missions, you're looking at 2-2.5K each. After you have topped up your companion to about 5000 affection, then take them to the cantina or ship and start their missions. You will see your affection go up approximately an extra 1000 just from the first group of missions.

See-through bikini on Ratghoul plagued companion

With the Ratgoul plague ending tonight I've been rushing frantically trying to collect all of the Ratghoul customizations for companions that have only been made available during the plague time. Bioware made eight available, one for each class. To get the customizations you had to purchase a random role customization chest from the Jawa on Tatooine and I ended up with six unique different ones and about five duplicates. Luckily I was able to get three of the female ones that are available for Kira, Mako and Elara Donne. Like always, I thought I'd take some nice high res images of the female companions in bikinis. Unfortunately, Bioware didn't think anybody would consider equipping bikinis on their female plagued companions! The result was inappropriate to say the least.

I was shocked when I saw how much the bikini revealed on Elara. How did this get into the game? She is showing way too much! :)

The default naked look for Elara has a long sleeve shirt and pants equipped. I guess Bioware didn't want to spend the time creating body skins for female zombies. Let's hope they fix it. I'll check Mako and Kira and post what I find. I only just got those customizations minutes before the servers went down.

At first I thought it was because she wore heavy armor but Kira wears light armor and it will be interesting to see if she can pull off the bikini zombie look.

The Many Looks of Vette

Complete Guide to Vette Customizations

Vette is undoubtedly one of the cutest female companions in all of SWTOR. As you would expect from a Twilik female, she has a bubbly personality but can be a little bit naughty at times. Although she doesn't like cruelty she is definitely no goody two shoes when it comes to the law.

[Spoiler Alert in next two sentences only] Even though she was brought up with Risha, the Smuggler companion, being playmates throughout their childhood years, she has a very different persona to Risha. She is way more likable.

Her witty comments add a certain something to a lot of the mission story lines.

When you first gain access to Vette you get a reward which allows you to choose between customizations one, two and three. You only get to choose one and the others are then available from vendors.

In this image you can see that she has a total of nine looks available ingame. The looks in the image above are in order, the default look on the left and then 1-4 on the top row and 5-8 on the bottom row.

1, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8 are available from your regular customization vendors on Balmorra and Taris, found in the cantinas.
2 is available from the Security Key vendor and also made available when you first get Vette, as one of the three choices.
6 is available from the Collector's Edition vendor in the Imperial Fleet.

All customizations, apart from customization six, are 12500 credits. Customization six, from the Collector's Edition vendor is just 2000 credits.

Guss is an almost comical companion. He can be quite useful as a healer, especially in the end game daily missions for most non-healing smugglers. He describes himself as a blank slate and is a little too eager to please sometimes.

Guss Tuno Background
Guss Tuno prefers the underworld lifestyle's potential for material riches. In a perfect galaxy, Guss would spend his retirement lounging in a heated swimming pool surrounded by exotic beauties while consuming a steady diet of fresh fish and expensive cocktails.
Although he often speaks before he thinks, Guss has talked his way out of certain death many times. He often uses his minimal knowledge of Jedi-and the lightsaber he stole from his old Master-to fool gullible criminals into leaving him alone. When that fails, Guss reveals he's a much better shot than anyone would believe.
